Senior Engineering support for validation, production, and developing test systems

The testing Businesses

“I like to cast testing into four large groups.”

The development of the sequence architecture to perform testing, then performing functional testing with all the evaluation and data components.

There is the development and use of the testing system itself, usually third-party applications and enterprise suites.  Here we track product requirements, test requirements, test regression functionality, and testing campaigns.

There is the lab and test processes, where I include developing drivers, interfacing new equipment to the codebase, connecting on premise and cloud storage and services.  The lab portion is the development, maintenance, and supply chain support that drives a functional lab, defined as having  tools, material, and fixtures.  New coding often includes the hardware infrastructure activities.

Testing , the overloaded term

Testing can fall into classifications such as validation, certification, reliability, R&D, and production verification.  Underlying all this is the tracking of testing, the storage of testing, the enablement of testing through infrastructure, and the process of continuous test additions.
